Your information,
kept purposeful.
Genime collects only the information needed to respond to acquisition inquiries, operate its referral program, and complete a potential transaction. It is not used for advertising, sold, or used to build visitor profiles.

Only what the interaction requires
Depending on how you use Genime, the following information may be collected:
- your email address (and your name, if you give it) when you request the Acquisition Brief, make an inquiry, or create or access a referral link;
- an Acquisition Brief request and subsequent acquisition correspondence;
- a referral number, referral link, referral visits, progress milestones and commission records;
- the relationship between a referral, an acquisition lead and a completed transaction;
- records showing the versions of the Referral Terms and Privacy Notice acknowledged; and
- limited technical information such as timestamps, IP address, browser information, errors and security events.
Referral participants may not submit a prospective buyer’s email address. A prospective buyer supplies their own information when requesting the Acquisition Brief or contacting Genime.
Acquisition and referral purposes
Information is used to deliver the requested Acquisition Brief, respond to inquiries, evaluate and negotiate a possible acquisition, administer referral links, verify qualifying introductions, provide referral progress notifications, prevent duplicate or fraudulent claims, complete a sale and commission payment, and meet legal, accounting and tax obligations.
Referral progress is communicated in general milestones. Genime does not disclose a prospective buyer’s identity or detailed browsing activity to a referrer without an appropriate reason and permission.
Genime does not use submitted details for newsletters or unrelated promotional marketing.
Why processing is permitted
Depending on the interaction, Genime processes information because it is necessary to take steps requested before entering a contract, to perform the referral arrangement or an acquisition agreement, to comply with legal obligations, or for legitimate interests in responding to inquiries, operating and securing the website, preventing fraud and managing a potential transaction. Where consent is required, it may be withdrawn at any time.
Connecting an introduction to a sale
A referral link contains an identifier that connects a referrer’s introduction with referral activity. If a visitor requests the Acquisition Brief, the referral identifier may be attached to that lead and retained through the longer acquisition process, even if later correspondence uses a different email address.
Genime records aggregate milestones for the referral program. Referrers are not given visitor identities, precise browsing histories, IP addresses or device information. Referral attribution normally remains eligible for the period stated in the Referral Terms.
Cookies and similar technologies
Genime.com does not use cookies and stores nothing on your device. A referral is carried by the link itself and by the information you choose to submit. There is no advertising, cross-site tracking, fingerprinting or behavioral profiling.
If privacy-preserving aggregate statistics are introduced, they will be used only to understand and improve the website, without creating individual visitor profiles. Clear information and a simple means of objecting will be provided where required.
When information is shared
Information may be processed by carefully selected providers that support website hosting, database and referral infrastructure, transactional email, security and technical delivery. Those providers act only for the purposes needed to provide and protect the service.
If an acquisition proceeds, necessary information may also be shared with Escrow.com and with legal, tax, accounting, technical or transaction advisors. Information may be disclosed to courts, regulators, tax authorities or law enforcement where legally required.
Genime does not sell personal information, provide it to advertisers or routinely circulate prospective buyer details to brokers.
Where information may be handled
Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where a restricted transfer occurs, Genime will use a transfer mechanism permitted by UK data-protection law, such as UK adequacy regulations or appropriate contractual safeguards where required.
Not kept indefinitely
- Unsuccessful acquisition inquiries are normally deleted after 24 months.
- Inactive referral registrations are normally deleted 24 months after their eligibility period ends.
- Pending transaction records are retained until the matter is resolved.
- Completed sale, commission and accounting records are retained for the period required by applicable tax, accounting, fraud-prevention and legal obligations.
- Ordinary technical and security logs are normally retained for no more than 90 days. Relevant records may be retained longer where an incident, dispute or legal obligation requires it.
Information that has been irreversibly anonymized may be retained for longer because it can no longer identify an individual.
Decisions remain human
Automation may deliver the Acquisition Brief, connect referrals to leads, count referral milestones, send operational notifications and flag possible duplicate or suspicious activity for review. Genime does not use solely automated processing to determine an acquisition price, reject a prospective buyer or make a final decision about referral eligibility.
Referral participants must be 18+
The website may be viewed by anyone, but the referral program is intended only for people aged 18 or over. Genime does not knowingly seek personal information from children for the referral program.
Your data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask to access or correct your personal information, have it deleted, restrict or object to its use, or receive certain information in a portable format. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent.
To make a request, email [email protected]. Genime may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Genime.com is operated in the United Kingdom by Michael Arner, who is the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this notice. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
